During the Obama administration, he also served in the Department of Homeland Security, first as director of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (2009–2013), and then as deputy secretary of DHS (2013–2016).
Mayorkas was born in Havana, Cuba. Shortly after the Cuban Revolution, his family fled to Florida and later settled in California. He graduated from UC Berkeley in history with honors, subsequently earning his J.D. from Loyola Marymount University. After law school, Mayorkas worked as an Assistant United States Attorney and was appointed the United States attorney for the Central District of California in Los Angeles during the administration of President Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, where he oversaw the prosecution of high-profile criminal cases.

I believe this is the most likely reason for Alejandro Mayorkas lies about the wide open border which he insists is closed. Joe Biden isn’t flying them all over the country, giving the migrants clothes and cell phones medical services on the taxpayer’s dime for nothing. I’m thinking they will use these migrants to cheat in 2024. And the GOP is so weak it’s pathetic. There’s only one person that can clean this mess up, and that’s Donald J Trump. And speaking of the GOP, if Ron DeSantis bails on Florida thinking he can win the presidency, he’s wrong. Ron is a good man but I and many other Floridians rallied for him to be our governor for the second term. If he abandons his duties working for all of us Floridians, Karma will bite him in the butt for sure! Personally, it’s my belief DeSantis would make an excellent VP for Donald Trump. In that position, he would learn what’s needed in the White House and be ready to take the White House in 2028. So, that’s my opinion, and I’m sticking to it! 😎
